Gift Aid

What we would like to do is to maximize the potential of the Gift Aid Scheme which the Chancellor of the Exchequer has greatly simplified in recent years. This means is that if you are a tax payer each £1 you put in the collection is potentially worth £1.25. Our Diocese is a Registered Charity and therefore, the Treasury will refund 25p of your tax for every £1 you put in the collection if you sign this Gift Aid Form. Of course, all this has to be verifiable and so those who sign a Gift Aid Form will be asked either to give their offertory using the Parish Envelopes or by a Standing Order. Last year 78 parishioners were in the scheme and the tax reclaimed was £10,993.47! If you are already in the scheme there is no need to complete this form. There is no need to commit to a regular sum, whatever you give, whenever you give it, is gratefully received.

You can support your parish at no extra cost to you:

  • Do you give in the Offertory at Mass?
  • Are you a Tax Payer?
  • Are you willing to give by offertory envelope, by cheque, or by standing order?

If you can answer “yes” to the above questions, please consider donating by Gift Aid by downloading and completing the form below, then returning it to your Parish Priest.
